I am back on the mainland and blogging from Seattle with South Austin in the rearview mirror. Don't worry Virgin Island fans, I will most certainly be back in the Caribbean for visits if not full-time. And I'm sure St. Thomas will creep it's way into many future posts. For now, it's all about living in the Pacific Northwest!

I will warn you up front that this is not a very interesting post. I am bored and therefore am not finding humor everywhere I look. Not today anyway. Today, I am just counting. Counting fixed objects and mostly, counting days.

Where are all the people? It's a slow day here in the store. It's been a slow week. I can count on both hands the number of people that have wandered through the store today. My hands are not happy being idle. I have counted the number of spotlights in the store (154), the number of bricks that make up the doorway arch (483), the number of boats visible from the waterfront (23), the number of safari cabs out front (8), the number of sunglasses that I have bought since I started working here (3), and anything else that would stand still long enough to be tallied. The smallest number that I counted today was the number of times that I have been on a boat since arriving here (again) over a month ago! Oh boat job... where are you? Oh future... what do you have planned for me? I'm counting the days until you reveal yourself to me.
