I am back on the mainland and blogging from Seattle with South Austin in the rearview mirror. Don't worry Virgin Island fans, I will most certainly be back in the Caribbean for visits if not full-time. And I'm sure St. Thomas will creep it's way into many future posts. For now, it's all about living in the Pacific Northwest!

Obsessing Again!!!

As it turns out, I have another "last" charter with my good friends Arno and Petra on Obsession. Yes, after spending just a few weeks together on this 85' yacht, I have learned a lot about them and consider them friends. Mostly, I learned that I like them both very much. Petra can makes a dessert out of ice cream, Sambuca, and black pepper? No kidding... who does that? So creative. It is so good, it will make you moan. I love the way she has strategically placed stuffed animals all over the boat. There are fish, pirate bears, octopi (is that a word?), and some very strange dogs indeed! Her boisterous and contagious laugh are known all over these islands. Arno has a no nonsense/common sense approach to everything. He's as confident and capable as anyone I've ever met but he's funny! If you ever book a trip on Obsession, and you should immediately... be sure to have him take you water skiing or knee-boarding. Towing is his special talent. He LOVES it!!! Oh, and by the way, I would be happy to help you arrange and confirm your charter plans with Obsession. Just email or call me!

I'm posting from the boat which is presently anchored in the West End of Tortola. It's a quiet night tonight and I get to relax a bit before the guests arrive tomorrow. I wish you could feel the gentle rocking of the boat and hear the quiet lapping of the water against the hull. You will just have to use your imagination. But I'm including this picture of the tarpon playing in the transom lights for your nighttime viewing pleasure.
