I am back on the mainland and blogging from Seattle with South Austin in the rearview mirror. Don't worry Virgin Island fans, I will most certainly be back in the Caribbean for visits if not full-time. And I'm sure St. Thomas will creep it's way into many future posts. For now, it's all about living in the Pacific Northwest!

New Stuff

Welcome to the new site y'all! After searching through thousands (okay, maybe only tens) of potential domain names, I've settled on Stuff I Notice.com. Because that's what this blog is about. Sure, at times it has been primarily about yachting in the Caribbean, life on the island, and rants about tourists. But really, it's about Stuff I Notice. So I have a new domain name. I feel so grown up. I'm so grown up in fact that I decided I am responsible enough to take care of a dog. So I decide that I want a Corgi cuz I have a small condo and I want this to be a win-win relationship. Just as I decided this, a friend tells me that he has just gotten a Corgi. So the very next weekend, I hit the highway and head up North through Lampassas
to visit the sister of said friend's new puppy. I normally take IH35 but it was recommended that I take the "pretty" route. Nice call. It was a beautiful drive through the rolling hills of Texas. That's right... rolling hills of Texas. The Wildflowers were still blooming though not in the numbers they were a short month ago. I had the car packed with a doggie bed, Greenie treats, and various other fun playthings. The best of these is what I immediately refer to as "Rabbit". Its just bunny ears on a rope but I know it will become her "favorite" as it is mine. When I reach the farm where my little darling has spent the first eight weeks of her life, a small boy walks out to the car and puts her right into my arms. So much for deciding if I will keep her or not. This small act on his part sealed the deal. I couldn't let go. I had to have THIS dog. So without further ado...

I am proud to introduce......................... Izee!

Formally, Isabella. Named in honor of Spain's triumph in the World Cup this year. Yeah, I know. It's a bit of a stretch but Isabella was much better than the other names that I called her during our first week together. There was Ramos, then Torres even though he had a bad Cup, and she was Xabi for at least forty-eight hours. But she's such a little princess that Isabella she became. She's the cutest little Corgi there is (sorry other cute Corgis) but it's true. Need another picture to prove it? O.k., Here's one more picture for my friend who loves it when dogs "lay out long".
